The “Temporaries” in Hotel Therme
During the redesign of the 40 rooms in the main building, Peter Zumthor designated these as “Temporaries” as a reference to the entire renewal process. The rooms have long been completed, but the working title has remained.
The basic configuration featuring the black lacquered furniture designed by Peter Zumthor is the same in all rooms, and yet every room is different: colourful kilim or gabbeh carpets, 20th century furniture classics from Eileen Gray, Mies van der Rohe, Le Corbusier and Jasper Morrison, and curtains made of pure silk in every room, in different colours and matching the rugs.
